Avaliação da contribuiçãoThe food is nasty !!! The seafood is mushy and just unpleasant . They put some type of sugar in their sauce so it has this overwhelming sweet flavor. I maybe had over 40 seafood boils in my life and this was the worst one.UPDATE: They respond to a lot of bad reviews saying email them so they can “make it right”. They never respond to any of those emails
In terms of accessibility, the parking situation, especially for those needing handicapped spots, was challenging. We ended up having to double park to find a spot.
(First timer here )I went on a Sunday at 5:00PM. The place was pretty empty, So we were able to get seated pretty fast. The waitress took our order for the beverages and came back in about 3-4 minutes. The Seafood boil came in about 20 Minutes which was pretty quick compared to most places. My whole family ordered the Cajun Boil, it was delicious BUT When I asked for Spicy the Cajun sauce wasn’t spicy for me compared to others places. That was the only problem I had with the food. But besides that, everything else was good. Only problem is I spent $230. Which is pretty pricey compared to other places. Will I come back ? Yes, I would. But only once a year, theirs cheaper Restaurants who serve seafood boil.Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu with little drawing games and they give the kids 2 crayons. And in the table curtain theirs word searches , mazes tic-tac-toe to keep the kids busy.
If you're looking at reviews on Hook and Reel you just need to go get some food. I eat sea food, but don't crave it, my Wife craves it, we went to Hook and Reel a couple of weeks ago with my Brother and his wife, two weeks later I couldn't get it out of my mind, so date night comes around and I had to take my wife back and get some of that yummy food. Bring a big apatite, the big boils will feed two people, if you like garlic, get the garlic butter sauce. The two times we've been there the service was great.
I had a great experience at Hook Reel! Although a bit expensive, the crab was definitely worth it. My child and I shared 2lbs of it. We also enjoyed the tasty cajun fries for a snack. The scallops that I ordered had a delicious, light and sweet flavor. My only disappointment was that they were not pan-seared, as that option was not available. However, the service was prompt and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and had great suggestions.
