Lotus Thai Cuisine - San Diego

This is a fantastic Thai restaurant for dining solo or with colleagues and friends. The atmosphere is inviting, and the portions are quite generous. The staff provides excellent service. Everything I ordered was delicious, though the chicken served with the rice was a bit chewy.

Our friends took us to this restaurant because it's their favorite Thai spot in San Diego, and we can see why. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and the portions were generous. We shared a variety of dishes, including Masaman Short Ribs (which were a bit tough to get off the bone and were my least favorite), Islander Fried Rice (which was flavorful and not overly greasy), Lotus Steamed Pork Dumplings (a nice appetizer), Mango Chicken (our friends’ favorite dish—we ordered two for the six of us!), and Pad Woonsen (thin glass noodles that were absolutely delightful). If we lived in San Diego, we would definitely come here frequently!

The best Pad Thai in all of San Diego! I only get Thai food from Lotus because it's reasonably priced and has excellent service. My favorites are the Pad Thai and drunken noodles. For appetizers, I highly recommend the chicken satay and veggie spring rolls. We absolutely love this place!

Decided to try this place for a light soup on a chilly evening. Ordered the Tom Kai chicken soup with a side of beef dumplings and it was so delicious! Our server was very nice and friendly. The restaurant ambiance was good even though it was unusually slow. Fair pricing for Thai food in Hillcrest, will be back!

I order from here A LOT. Great food and service. By sheer frequency of ordering over the course of years I should have had at least one sub par experience and honestly don 't think I ever have. Service was great with precautions all through the pandemic, with food quality remaining. My only complaint is once or twice it 's been spicer than I 'd like (I always say 0), but I 'm am such a wuss when it comes to spice that threshold is low, ha.
