Bella Trattoria - San Francisco

Bella is a very small, but inviting place. Great food. Ok Service. Issues: The staff is usually small with 1-2 servers who definitely play favorites. It can sometimes be hard to get service, but when you come to a place like this, you are there for the food.

This place is a great, generally solid option for Italian food that isn’t ****. Davide does a great job running the restaurant with literally a skeleton crew (they have 1 chef. ONE. . I always appreciate the food I get and the service I have received; the staff is focused on execution and not schmoozing their customers. I had one of the best meals I’ve ever had here. 6 courses of awesome. Great wine list, showing quite a bit of quality and variety for not a lot of money, Decor is great, soaring ceilings, low light, white table cloths. I knocked one star off because large group dining is a no-go here. This is DEFINITELY a great date spot, though, and their service and food really shines in a small group, sharing type environment. Also, they close pretty early.

The food took forever to come and i find everything was saltier than usual. They messed up on the orders but they did discount our bills. i probably wouldnt go here again. The lobster ravoli I had was not hot at all.

I thought I had already reviewed Mescolanza before! Oops. I have been coming to this restaurant for years, ever since they were located on Clement street. Their Italian food is the best I have ever had.

This is a pretty good restaurant with delicious dishes at the same price point. I would definitely recommend trying the grilled calamari or filet mignon.
