Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe went up to San Fransisco for Christmas with some family and were spending that Saturday at Fisherman’s Wharf. When we saw that Chowder’s had a Crab and Fish Poorboy (which both my mom and I had been craving), we knew that it was where we had to go for lunch. Chowder’s is a step above fast food in that yes, you do order at a counter and yes the food is ready quickly, but the food is fantastic enough where you’d never guess it was a fast food meal. I’d contribute their fantastic, fast and affordable food to the fact that their menu is pretty basic and focused. They have fewer dishes than some, but they’re all fantastic…. They’ve got their handful of seafood sandwiches, some salads, two chowders (one red one white, both served in a bread bowl), some fried seafood choices, some friend vegetable choices, a couple of sides and a handful of non-seafood choices like grilled cheese (most likely for the kids). My point is everything is fresh and they know what they’re good at and that’s what they serve. Also, there’s outdoor seating in addition to indoor seating, which I love (because I like to people watch). A table was a little tricky to find, but not too bad considering it was the busiest we’d ever seen the area. It was my parents, my boyfriend and me and just the perfect low key meal to inspire laughs and good conversation. It was such a good experience actually that once we got home we recreated the meal by making both the shrimp and crab Poorboys for lunch and Chowder for dinner within the week!
