Avaliação da contribuiçãoThis is probably my favorite Burmese restaurant in the bay area, which comes from a burmese person who grew up in myanmar. the shan noodles were delicious even though they were vegetarian! my partner also enjoyed his cocos noodles. the Dessert option was also like home. my place is just when they have restaurants outside. the price was also great. I would have this place over any of the fancier burmese restaurants with subpar aromen
The curry was overwhelmingly flavorful with various interesting spices layered into it. Only complaint is that I wish the portion was a bit bigger, but I would absolutely come back try something else. The place has a nice authentic atmosphere about it too.
I'm so glad that I gave this place a try. The coconut milk soup is delicious. I drunk the last drip of it. Tips: the grounded pepper came with the soup is not spicy but flavorful, so I'd put in the whole cup. My wife liked the beef curry bento with tea leaf salad. Tips: the tea leaf itself is a bit salty, so don't put all of them in your salad.
Dining at Kyusu was my first foray into Burmese cuisine, and I have to say I'm definitely a fan! I've had my fair share of southeast Asian cuisine, and I can safely ay that nothing really compares to Burmese food the dishes here are so unique that they're in a league of its own. They have a pretty sizeable menu with a wide variety of offerings including noodle dishes and curries. Their bento boxes come very highly recommended so I went with their Burmese chicken curry bento. The bento comes with a side of either their famous tea leaf salad or vegetable spring rolls. I personally went with the tea leaf salad, but also ordered a side of vegetable spring rolls to try.The tea leaf salad came first. Initially I found the dish to be a bit sour to my taste, but after taking a few more bites I grew to enjoy the astringent savory flavor. The vegetable spring rolls were crisp and flavorful, nothing particularly standout about them, but they were well-made nonetheless. Now for the main course the Burmese chicken curry bento. Of note, this dish (fortunately for me) was non-spicy. I cannot say enough good things about this chicken curry. The chicken was cooked to perfection, soft and tender, and practically melting in your mouth. The potatoes were equally as flavorful (and if I had any complaint I just wish the dish came with more potato pieces they were THAT good). The curry is unlike any other curry I've had before, each bite was an experience as the savory flavors of ginger, cumin, garlic, and online danced across my taste buds. Needless to say I finished this dish in record time and honestly found myself wanting more.I'll definitely be returning here again soon. If you're looking for Burmese food or just want something new to try I highly recommend this restaurant!
Let me start by saying I haven't taken the time to review many places, but this restuarant deserves to get credit for the dishes they put out! As you may know based on local searches there aren't very many Burmese spots to choose from in the Bay Area, and I must say after trying them all from San Francisco across the Bay to Oakland and back down to Gilroy.KYUSU is the best there is! Their flavors are fantastic and while many establishments skimpped on ingredients and drove up their prices during the pandemic, this place has yet to change its amazing quality food! MUST TRY while in the area, go see what I mean for yourself. Here are a few of my favorites:Tea leaf saladKawk swe thokeBurmese beef stewCountry style fish...but I promise, EVERYTHING IS exceptional!
