The Refuge San Mateo

We love it here. They offer inside and outside dining and both have a nice vibe. They also offer a great Menu of options. I just tried their fried chicken sandwich for the first time. Spicy and filled with so much flavor. Soooo gooood!

We were a larger party with kids so I understand. However, it wasn't busy at all and the food was not at the standard of the San Carlos location. I loved the larger restaurant and outside seating area. I was surprised for a Sunday at lunch during the holidays it wasn't busier. I may be back here in the future but my preference is the San Carlos location.

Such good pastrami. And unbelievably efficient restaurant staff; yet also friendly.
