The tuna was medium grilled pefectly. A beautiful setting on the deck looking out at the Playa Principal. Real cotten napkins real candles great service well worth the price. Most enjoyable
Such a memorable evening. First, the setting is amazing, right on the Playa Principal but with a solid floor and comfortable chairs. Tables are set with fresh flowers, cloth napkins and nice glassware. Service from the very sweet, smiling waitresses and waiter was perfect. I had the seafood trilogy and my husband had the tuna. Both served with salad and rice, and whole wheat bread and butter. Palm trees, candlelight, fishing boats, beautiful guitar music, ocean breeze...utterly lovely! And it is no more expensive than any other nice restaurants we've been to in Puerto. In fact, the white wine is probably the most reasonably priced we've had. Highly recommend.
On NYE, when we paid an exorbitant amount of money for a full course dinner, they charged us for a bottle of water. Really, this is all you need to know, but there was more, oh so much more. The service was laughably amateurish, and I mean we actually laughed after having to request the wine list three times. Servers needed continual prompting to serve us, and at the end, we had to get up and go to the front to get our bill. Despite the positive reviews of the food, it was mediocre at best for an establishment with aspersions to continental cuisine. The salad was little more than a couple of leaves of lettuce with a bit of dressing, and the arrechera was undercooked and only a little bit warm. The seafood was decent and on par with the rest of Puerto Escondido, but no more than that, which was disappointing considering that we paid at least three times what you would find by walking down the beach. When traveling, we do try to make allowances for deficits in service and food in smaller places like Puerto, but there's so much great fresh food and at least decent service here that you are much better off picking a place on Zicatela at random than overspending at Pascale.
I asked for a veggie plate and they brought bread, rice, and grilled zucchini, eggplant, onions, and tomatoes, plus a side-salad for a super cheap price! I was super happy. Wine was 70 ish pesos and was delicious I had the sauce blanc). We are on the patio on the beach which was beautiful and good for kids id they want to run around or play on the sand while waiting for their food. Maybe the friendliest waitresses in Mexico and I’ve lived here for 3 heads. So accommodating! However, I gave this a 4 for two reasons: my partner got the paella which he said was really mediocre, and he ordered a cocktail that they apparently didn’t have the ingredients for because they ended up serving him an unpalatable sweet mix drink... wish they had just said sorry and that they didn’t have the ingredients, as he was stuck with a very disgusting beverage he didn’t order. But overall, quick and friendly service with a vegan option if you ask for it! I loved my meal personally!
