Mel's Drive-in - Santa Monica

Mel’s is a local staple and we did not pass up on the opportunity to eat here again on our last day in town. I ended up ordering the high protein breakfast (menu pictured for contents of said meal) and gobbled that up rather quickly due to how simple, yet good it all is. My wife ended up eating getting some scrambled eggs with gluten free toast, bacon, ham, and a side of hash browns. All in all, the environment is perfectly retro and it makes for a cozy dining experience no matter which location you go to! Sorry that the food is not pictured, for some of these reviews I find myself enjoying the experience so much that I forget to capture the meal. Suffice to say, Mel’s is a safe breakfast lunch dinner spot with a classic edge to it that will fill you up and see you leaving with a smile.

This place is so good! I got the avocado burger and I definitely recommend. I only got half because I was sharing but it’s great. Also, the fries!! Gosh are they good.

AMAZING!!! This is place is just perfect. We had to stay one night near Santa Monika and we arrived early in the morning. From our motel recommended Mel’s and for reasons. We had some of their breakfasts and it was so delicious and big portions. The next day we visited it for lunch and it was almost full. While walking to our table we saw some of the portions at the others and they seems like for two persons. We had Mel’s famous burger. It was delicious but especially this portion was normal, not so big. We loved the jukebox and the places at all. Typicall American place like in the movies. The staff were very kind and the service was fast. They have special menu for kids. We saw they have restaurants places in Hollywood and San Diego.

We enjoyed our time eating breakfast here. It’s nice and clean inside. They have cute jukeboxes at some of the tables so bring some quarters. The food was great. I got the breakfast sandwich and home fries and it was delicious. The bacon on the sandwich was made perfect.
