Avaliação da contribuiçãoAfter hiking across Querétaro, I wounded in this Cajun-style restaurant, which is located at the Gran Hotel. I chose it on the basis of its attractive outdoor seating. When I was eating there for the first time, I had two crabcakes and a Mexican beer. Just enough. But I have to say these crabcakes were as good as anyone I've ever eaten in Baltimore when I lived there. Better. The Cajun spices were perfect, invigorate the dish, but without exaggerating it. On a second occasion I had prepared octopus in meskalen and sauteed potatoes Cajun style, which means they were a bit spicy. The octopus was very good and the potatoes were excellent. If the bar food is, I have to go to more bars. You will not go wrong by prefering this restaurant.
While this is a restaurant in New Orlean, we ordered the salmon and several steak dishes that were excellent and not Cajun (which we wanted). We ate here three times and it was great every time. You have a beautiful covered outdoor seating area on the Plaza and the staff was very friendly and helpful. By the way, we learned medium is tres/cuatro (3/4). That was a nice step change. My partner loved Carne Asada.
The staff speaks very good English and is very nice. Happy Hour means that you get two Martini cocktails for 2 immediately at the price of one, which max. 6 euros for 2 drinks. A must!
We didn't eat here but just sat down for drinks outside on the patio where a band was playing classical rock music. The big patio is on one of the big squares in the center of town which was packed and buzzing on a Friday night.
This restaurant offers a version of Cajun cuisine. The place has plenty of space for social distancing. The service is decent, depending on who you get. The food was pretty delicious. The Jambalaya was plentiful and savory; the meat was really good. I'd order it again. The carrot cake was different than delicious!
