There is a story behind this restaurant which the staff share and makes the place feel all that more special. The restaurant used to be Safija’s house and still has some of the furniture from when she lived there. The food is all based on Safija’s recipe book which she created using inspiration from the different cuisines she tasted on her travels. I got the vegan tasting menu, which was 7 courses including some of the most creative food I have ever had. 1. Walnut pate, falafel, caper 2. Marinated asparagus, basil mayonnaise, breadcrumbs 3. Red pepper tatar, dill moss, dill cream, pickled mushrooms, seed crumbs 4. Pumpkin tart, pumpkin sauce, saffron tuile, pumpkin seeds 5. Bulgur wheat, dehydrated tomato pesto, avocado, soy cheese, black sesame seeds 6. Grilled courgette, pea apple and mint puree, cherry tomato and onion salad, plant-based cheese breaded with cashews, sweetcorn, sweet potato crisps 7. Blueberry and cashew cream cake, candy floss, lavender sauce. Safe to say that I was STUFFED after this! Would you believe me if I told you this cost the equivalent of less than £25 (50 Bam)?! For a Bosnian restaurant, this is on the more expensive side but I don’t think you could find this kind of value for money anywhere in England. You can choose to have wine pairings with your food for 40 Bam extra. If you ever visit Sarajevo, you have to check out this restaurant it’s really one of a kind. This venue is the most beautiful restaurant I have visited in Sarajevo and would be perfect for a special occasion such as a wedding reception.
I thought to experience a beautiful energy in the meal, instead of some dishes were too salty or oily and some tasted nothing. The whole setting is posh, but the music is radio music and doesn't fit inside, so the vibe is strange. That's the food! No gourmet flavor, not even usual, super disappointed!
Calm and romantic atmosphere perfect not only for a intimate dinner but also a business lunch or a brunch with friends. Offers a lot of plant based options, they have been expanding and reinventing the menu reglulary, always focusing on seasonal and fresh local produce. Ocasionally Vege brunch on Sunday which is mostly vegan. Everyone is so nice and service is great. The staff truly cares about your experience.
I was really glad to have experienced this place. It has a very nice atmosphere and the house has an interesting story about which you can read on the website. It is expensive for Bosnian standards, but average prices compared to Western European restaurants. Definitely worth a try if you want fine-dining at a low price. They have three vegan starters, consisting of a soup, a potato dish and zucchini slices with “christmas” spices. My partner and I tried the potato and zucchini dishes. I was a bit disappointed with the potato, but the zucchini was great! Unfortunately, there is only one main course consisting of a "Kebab"-Patty of Wulgur, and with couscous and grilled carrots for sides. It was very inventive and tasty, but I miss some more fresh sides as it became a bit heavy. We also got the vegan dessert from apples, apple sorbet, cinnamon crunch and walnut cream. I give my biggest recommendations on this. Note: The seven course menu mentioned in the reviews below no longer exists Updated from the previous review on 2022-07-21
