Santini's Bistro - Sault Ste. Marie

My husband and I came for lunch on the recommendation of a friend. I ordered the half portion of meat lasagna and hubby ordered the chicken parmesan with penne. The pasta was supposed to be handmade but the penne wasn't. The lasagna noodles might have been since they were very tender. However, I keep asking hubby if his marinara sauce was acidic since my sauce was very acidic. After a few bites, it tasted more vinegary than anything. Hubby finally took a bite of mine and confirmed that it was vinegary. I couldn't eat it because it was making me sick and put my fork down on my half-finished bowl hoping that the waiter would notice that something was wrong. The waiter was busy with other tables (the restaurant was only half full) and didn't pay attention to us. Hubby finally called over a waitress and explained what was wrong. She apologized and offered something else but I didn't dare eat anything else - was actually afraid I"d be sick. It took a while before we could get our waiter's attention to ask for the bill. He brought it without saying anything. When I asked if he or someone else had tasted the lasagna today, he said "no". I would have expected that someone would have checked it out right away. If it had gone bad, they shouldn't be serving it. I didn't realize until we left that we weren't charged for my meal. The waiter should have told us. We will not be back.

For the price, one of the best breakfasts around. Bottomless cups of coffee and amazing staff. Couldn't believe how cheap and how good! Great atmosphere! The Tech is awesome.

Really impressed! Our waitress was amazing. Very friendly staff. Full breakfast on sat and sun is only $5.00. Amazing value! Fiancé had the waffles with fruit and whipped cream and they were light and fluffy. Will go back again!

Upon arriving at airport found out plane was cancelled and 2nd one delayed. It was dinner time and decided to eat at the only airport restaurant. Truly enjoyed everthing the waitress was quick- order was taken and delivered hot. I had Fish and Chips. The fish was fresh and the fries wonderful.

We had lunch here - it was OK. The food was tasty, not exceptional. Service seemed to be of the "I'm learning the ropes" variety. Nothing wrong with the food or the service - just an average little place to eat. The art gallery upstairs... now THAT was spectacular :)
