Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe ordered two coffees, a cake, and a scone. The scone was large but extremely dry, with only a tiny bit of jam. We were disappointed with the lack of food hygiene, as there were flies around the uncovered food. We would not return to eat at this restaurant.
Roast beef baguette with caramelised onions? Sounds nice except beef was last week's dry and chunky, onions do not come in a jar? They should be cooked in a pan..terrible never again, wife had chicken tikka jacket potato that was dry and chicken hard sauce again from a jar? Time they got a chef that can cook and make an easy sauce..and fry onions?
We go here on a regular basis and enjoy coffee and cake. The plants are reasonably priced and good quality.
This cafe has long been one of my favourite places to eat as the food is great, the staff are lovely, the prices are reasonable and the setting within the garden centre is really nice. However, I was disappointed yesterday when I asked if I could have the gammon, egg and chips from the main menu but without the gammon as I don't eat meat. The server asked the chef who replied that he could do that for me (like he was doing me a big favour) but that I'd still have to pay full price. Given that I'd have to be an idiot to pay almost thirteen quid for two fried eggs and a portion of chips, I politely declined. I reckon double eggs and chips would be a very popular addition to the menu and ask that the management be a bit more flexible. BTW, I ended up with a cheese and caramelised onion toasty. Unfortunately it was cold. I should really have taken it back but chose not to make a fuss.
Love this garden centre and the cafe. They do some lovely meals and snacks which are all well presented and delicious. Usually go for a sandwich but decided on a full lunch meal which was great and not too expensive. The gift shop and garden centre is great also and well worth a visit.
