Olympia - Selfkant

We go regularly to this fine Greek restaurant in Wehr, Selfkant. The food is delicious and tasteful. They have several different plates and meals, from mixed plates, to Mezes wich are Greek tapas-style dishes. Prices are very acceptable. An Ouzo is being served when you...get the menu and are thinking what to eat. In the front of the restaurant we like it best, the hall in the back can be remourous. Parking places are enough. Only negative side is you only can pay with German bankcard, not dutch or other foreign card. Not sure if they accept (foreign) creditcards.

We visited Olympia exactly a year ago on a busy night and were not happy with the service. We decided to give it another go tonight and we were pleasantly surprised. I wrote a bad review last year which I have just deleted because we...had such a great experience today. The food was outstanding! We tried different mezedes dishes which were all very tasty. They were served on nice plates and tasted/looked more authentic than the large grill platters most Greek restaurants serve (although you can still order those if you're into that kind of thing). The staff were very friendly and were working really hard to keep all the guests happy. Our first impression of Olympia was wrong and we will definitely return. This is our absolute favorite place to eat in the area selfkant. the decor is beautiful. if they ever want to greece, they feel like they are traveling on the islands. it is beautiful, not cheesy or above the tip. The foods are what we want. the menu has a lot to offer every palate and we have never got a bad meal. the service is somewhat slower than we want, but it is europa and we have come to realize that this is simply normal the most place. the owner is super friendly and if he is in front of location the service we have found to be a little more attentive. the place gets a little loud many families with children and it is also much bigger in the inner than you could think from outside. my favorite thing on the menu is the basic chicken gyro. it is a high step over every street food gyro I have ever tried. it is about and it is worth it. so good. they also have some great cocktails. but at our last visit they were not with cocktails. what we found strange and it seemed that it was just the bartender decision since they were busy. I still give them stars because it is the best place in the opposite. it will be a regular stop for us. English menus available and reservation via their website is recommended as it is busy. kieser parking behind the restaurant can be packed. so they come early as the people tend to stay one because of the fun atmosphere and flowing drinks, but mostly due to the slow service. enjoy ouzo and relax! yassou!

The new interieur is stunning. they experience a holiday on the Greek islands! this in combination with beautiful meze and the best main courses you can imagine...if you love Greek and it is delicious eating, they go to Olympia...over the border near sittard!

Had another wonderful dinner. good aromas, very beautiful atmosphere and nothing to complain. sad no pictures, but next time will do something. for me
