Cafe On The Square - Seward

Delicious food at a reasonable price. You can tell items were homemade and fresh. Great atmosphere and friendly waitstaff. We will be back next time we are in the area.

This is one of those hidden gems! If you’re ever around Seward, NE stop in for a great experience! Cozy surroundings, great service and amazing food. Recommend the everything omelet or the cinnamon roll pancakes……careful the pancakes are plate sized and amazing!!

Came here on a Saturday at 1:00. What a disaster. Incompetent hostess/bartender/server. No menus to offer us until others were done ordering. Slow service. She asked what kind of gravy I wanted with my potatoes, I said beef. Dumbfounded look followed by ‘is that white or brown?’ The other couple at the bar were commiserating with us on how awful everything was. We finally get our food and yep. Hair in my mashed potatoes. No server around to even complain. I was so hungry I plucked it out, wolfed down our food and we got out of there. My food was fine (sans the hair), my husband was very disappointed with his. Only pro was the server who made our drinks, still somehow managed to forget to charge us for them.*Update I appreciate the response from the owner, and feel bad about being so distraught...it was just lunch, not the end of the world.

Cafe on the Square is truly a hidden gem. The food was “out of this world” delicious and the waitress was very attentive and friendly. The decor is very cool in a brick building. Highly recommend and will be back for many more meals.
