During my visit to Sonoma, California on January 20, 2009, I stumbled upon a hidden gem of a deli with a friend to celebrate her birthday. From the moment we walked through the front door, we were welcomed by the amazing scents of deli meats, breads, oils, and toppings that filled the air. The friendly staff greeted us with smiles and offered helpful suggestions when needed. It was clear that this local deli was a special find, and the food did not disappoint. My friend and I both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, with my personal favorite being the Pastrami on Sweet Soft Roll with Swiss Cheese, Xt Mayo, Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Lt. Olives, Pepper, and Vinegar/Oil. The sandwich was heavenly and worth the visit. We were so impressed that we made a return trip from Burlingame before heading back to Southern California. It would be wonderful if their deli items were available for overnight delivery so that more people could enjoy them. I definitely plan on revisiting this deli when I return to San Francisco in the future.
The Deli at Napa Jewel is a hidden gem with a beautiful environment. It is located in an inner section that is remarkable, but could use more signage to attract the public's curiosity. The food is incredible and the service is legendary. I will definitely make it a point to stop by whenever I am in the area.
The sandwiches at this restaurant are fantastic, made with fresh ingredients and served on beautiful rolls or delicious bread. However, the seating area is quite limited. The price for a meal is $10.
Perfect hold for a simple, well prepared lunch. Have the Hot Classic Reuben (Swiss cheese, Pastrami, Sauerkraut, 1000 island dress, all on marble rye). It cost every bite.
