Despite there being several free tables available, the man with a beard on the restaurant floor insisted we stand at the bar as there were no free tables. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I asked if we could sit at a table since we were only waiting a short time. He reluctantly pointed to a high table with 2 chairs and said we could sit there. Luckily, a couple at the next table gave us an extra chair. It was clear that we were not welcome, as we were only there for drinks. When we left after an hour, there were still empty tables available.
First time in this restaurant and need not have worried. Met Erin at reception and she showed us to our table. She was so friendly and attentive during our visit. She has a great personality and a warm smile. She is a great ambassador for the company. Big shout out to the kitchen brigade for the very high standard of food and its portions. Great atmosphere and value for money. Will be back for sure.
Last minute call having been let down elsewhere. Staff could not have been nicer. Warm welcoming phone call to book, table sorted on arrival. Delicious food, great atmosphere and staff fantastic! Mixture of ages in our party and all enjoyed
Lovely surroundings. Pleasant decor. Very good selection on the menu. Check your bill. I was over charged. The guy on the till was a tad surly. I didn't realize till too late.
I ordered the truffle mushrooms on sourdough but instead received mushrooms in mayonnaise on a baguette. The waiter told me the soup was tomato, but what arrived was a very small bowl of tepid mushroom soup that was more like a thick sauce. I also ordered a decaf cappuccino, but I could now tell (not in a good way) that it was caffeinated. The waiter, who had a beard, had an unfriendly and "not bothered" manner, making me feel uncomfortable and not confident enough to raise any challenges or spoil my lunch with my friend.
