Fat Cap Smoked Meats - South Bend

I recently had a good deal at this restaurant, so I am not upset about it, but the food left something to be desired. While the texture of the dishes was quite enjoyable - with tender chicken, fine sausage, and average brisket - the flavor was lacking. The chicken and sausage had an artificial smokiness to them, which was not appealing. The brisket sandwich was overloaded with odd sauces and peppers, making it overwhelming. If the restaurant can improve their seasoning and sauces, they have potential to be above average. On a positive note, the dirt cake dessert was simple yet delicious.

The best BBQ we have ever had, anywhere! We had the brisket, rib tips and pork belly...WOW! All was delicious, tender and juicy. All the sauces are great too. Just amazing! Service was friendly and helpful too.

This little building holds huge taste. All of their sauces are great. I've had the brisket pulled pork sandwiches, which are both quite enjoyable. The mac cheese is extra cheesy.This is definitely one of the top 3 bbq places in the South Bend area.Do yourself a favor, stop in soon grab a bite to eat.

Sad no turkey but the rest was good. Great place to get food.

Food was so great! It was like a whole turkey loin! The cornbread was so moist. The greens were so good not bitter ! Very hard to find unless homemade.
