Raj Of India - South Kesteven

Very nice indian restaurant. one of the more traditional types. good portions, nice food but one thing that i don’t like is the soft drinks are from the plastic bottle: other that that all good

We booked in advance only to discover The Raj was closed but fortunately reopened for our booking. As you enter a notice board has a few news clipping which appear some time ago. The food produced was disappointing, it lacked the normal delightful spiced flavours on a good Indian. My wife 's mixed grill had loose bits of chicken bone in it, this was raised with waiter but brushed off could have been really dangerous. My dish lacked any flavour, with a very small portion of chick. We left disappointed on what could have been an outstanding evening. Service provided was good but food sadly lacking.

The restaurant requires some attention, with peeling wallpaper and mold on the walls as you descend to the lower level dining area. The two staff members appeared confused when I inquired about their takeout service (which they do offer) and they were unable to muster a smile. It's no surprise that the restaurant was empty at 6:30 pm on a Friday. The food was mediocre at best. I will explore other dining options next time.

I ordered delivery from this restaurant and it took an hour and a half to arrive. The food was decent, but some items were not as hot as I would have liked.

Really tasty food and presented nicely. The service and decor however, could do with some work, there was no atmosphere as only a handful of people in there and it was a Friday eve.
