Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe called here with our little dog at lunch time. It was busy but we were able to find a seat. The service was very attentive, it was a hot day and we were immediately offered a bowl of water for our dog, and they even gave her a dog biscuit! It was very welcome. We had the tomato and mozzerella sandwich which came with a lovely salad garnish. The staff could not have been friendlier we will certainly come again when we are in the area.
A visit to the York bar is a pleasure indeed. The staff are so friendly and the bar menu is excellent and not too large
Two to three decades ago this used to be the elite bar to be seen at in Stamford. Sadly it has lost that panache. With the dark wood beams and lead latticed windows the ambience is almost akin to being aboard a galleon. A lovely cosy place in the winter months. Patronised by tourists and guests of the George hotel in the main. Drinks aren't cheap but the afternoon tea is well worth stopping in for.
This is a very special little bar which is an integral part of the iconic George Hotel. Panelled in Oak, with an open fire place it is a great place to relax in the heart of the town
I went to this restaurant for a light meal and had a pint of beer and a glass of wine. The Adnams Broadside was served at the right temperature and had a good taste. I ordered a rare beef sandwich with horseradish, while my wife got the smoked salmon sandwich. Both were prepared perfectly. The roast beef was rare, tender, and very generous. The York Bar is a cozy, traditional room that was decorated with Christmas decorations for the festive season. The price was reasonable for the experience. We have been visiting the George for over twenty years and have never been disappointed, whether it's for traditional lunches or weddings. Thank you once again!
