The Getaway Cafe - South Lake Tahoe

Very friendly staff, original house atmosphere, but cold in the morning. Only heat source is the fireplace so bundle when it is cold outside. Breakfast was great, they have several options for those who are vegetarian.

I enjoyed my breakfast Burrito, but my sweetheart was less than blinded with his cookies and Gravy. Very nice staff.

Best dinners in South Lake! This place rocks! It is so affordable, with huge portions and great food. The burgers and sandwiches are amazing, and their meat is the best I have ever eaten! Fresh seafood, Filet Migon for $22 was so delicate and juicy and better than a steak I had on a fine esserholer in the city. They have a large selection of wine and beer, are family-friendly and make all their own soups and salad dresses up from scratch! They are blown away and then want to come back to breakfast the next day, that's just as amazing!

What a find The Getaway Cafe So Lake Tahoe. We dined at the Getaway Cafe after a day of sightseeing, we stopped to buy gas and asked a CHP officer for a recommendation. It was a little hard to find, the restaurant sits back on the lot. The minute we walked in we were made to feel at home. Our dinner was relaxed and cozy. What a great find, I have never eaten a better food, or made to feel so at home. The service was great and, I will go back.
