The Getaway Cafe - South Lake Tahoe

We had an outstanding experience at this restaurant, with both the service and the food being excellent. Although it's a small space, we had no trouble getting a table at 7:30 AM. The place became busier while we were there. I ordered the oatmeal, which was delicious, especially with the various toppings available; I opted to add bananas to mine. The menu featured a fantastic selection of items, providing plenty of choices.

This is a fantastic local breakfast spot in Tahoe. The seating area is small but charming. We didn't have to wait for a table, but I imagine it would be quite busy on weekends and during peak season.

The food looks wonderful, but when I arrived with my dog, expecting to sit outside on a 75-degree day, I was informed that outdoor dining was not available, even though the area was fully set up. I didn't receive much assistance and was told to leave my dog in the car.

The food here was incredible, and the customer service was just as excellent. I ordered the huevos rancheros and maple French toast, and it turned out to be the best breakfast I've had during my entire trip. Next time I visit South Lake, I will definitely stop by at least twice.

This is a wonderful out of the way place to enjoy a delicious breakfast where everything is homemade. The owner is super friendly and sweet. You can dine al fresco under the beautiful trees out side the quaint restaurant or take a seat inside. Either way you will be delighted with the menu options offered. I love this place??
