Rose And Crown - South Lakeland

Would highly recommend this for food service. Lovely home cooked food and plenty of options for dairy and gluten free too. Even a dairy free cheesecake base isn’t gf . Dogs welcome and service was very good too. We went 2 nights running.

A simple but yet fantastic gastro pub The rose and crown is located in the centre of ulverston. The staff. Polite, helpful and friendly they contribute to a very warming atmosphere and engage well with the locals and tourists The food. I had the king prawn starter with chilli and garlic. Great portion, extremely tasty and great value for the price. My only problem was that I couldn’t get enough of it. My main was the panko chicken burger, the chicken was moist the panko batter was perfect, it came with skin on fries and onion rings which accompanied it perfectly (I declined the slaw and veg). The venue The Rose Crown is what a small town pub should be quiet and unassuming from the outside with a very quaint look to friendly and full of atmosphere on the inside. I can understand why the locals enjoy it Overall I will definitely be coming back and wouldn’t just recommend it to friends but I will be suggesting a visit next time I am here with friends.

The food was good. Staff very welcoming, polite and made every effort to accommodate our requests. We had 3 Spaniels with us, so a quieter corner suited us.

Called in on Monday night, hadn't booked first but they found us a table. We both had steak and ale pie. There was plenty of tasty filling and the meat was beautifully cooked. We both had chunky chips and veg. It was a superb meal, we didn't have to wait long and it tasted fantastic. The portions were huge but we still managed to find room for pud. Well worth a visit if you're ever in Ulverston.

Stopped for Sunday Lunch and it was exceptional. Brisket Beef fell apart and everything was cooked to perfection. Plenty of veg and meat you would not be disappointed. Highly reccomend.
