The Plough - South Northamptonshire

Had an unexpected lunch at The Plough today. The service was fantastic as always and the lunch was delicious. We always love coming to this pub because the landlord, Mark, is so welcoming and the staff are very friendly. The food is also good and reasonably priced. I'm not a fan of sports, but there are plenty of screens for those who are. Don't worry, though, for those of us who aren't into sports, the screens are not overwhelming, except for the really big games. There are also live bands that often perform here, making for great nights out. The best pub in Brackley.

I traveled 200 miles to visit my partner and we decided to try out this cozy little pub for Sunday roast. We ordered 2 large dinners at £16 each. After a long wait, the meals arrived and they were not at all what we expected. They were much smaller than a large portion should be, fitting on a small plate. There was no mash or peas, and the Yorkshire puddings were frozen. It felt more like a snack than a proper meal. We were very disappointed with the experience.

The difference between the large and small plates is minimal, as both offer the same food just on a smaller dish. Needless to say, I was not impressed with the portion size. The lack of mashed potatoes and peas was also disappointing. The almost empty restaurant should have been a warning sign of what was to come. Overall, the dinner felt more like a snack and was overpriced at £40. I regret not giving the money away instead. My girlfriend, who had driven 200 miles to have lunch with me, was also unimpressed with the experience.

Great pub, with outstanding food and service. Had the lamb curry from the specials menu. Spend a lot of time in curry restaurants all over the country and this blew them all out of water. First class

Not been here before, chose it following an internet search based on geography and somewhere dog friendly. Lots of choice of food and reasonable prices. The staff were friendly, even bringing out a few dog biscuits for Bella (the dog). Would definitely return.
