Avaliação da contribuiçãoOn Saturday 8th July, I traveled all the way from North Wales to visit this restaurant that had always been on my bucket list. I checked their website and Facebook page and was sad to hear about the recent break-in. The information I found indicated that they should have reopened on the 6th or 7th of July. I tried calling ahead before my visit, but there was no answer. I assumed they would be open on the 8th, but there were no updates or information available. When I arrived at 12:15, there were five cars parked by the locked gate and nobody knew what was happening. I walked down the lane and saw a fantastic house, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a wasted trip as the blackboard outside read "closed until further notice". We informed others who arrived after us about the closure, and we were disappointed that we had not been informed earlier as we wouldn't have made the journey if we had known.
We had a delightful and friendly meal out with friends and children. We enjoyed a variety of meals for both the kids and adults. The staff were extremely helpful in catering to a member of our party with an egg allergy and another needing gluten-free options. The food was tasty and the atmosphere was chilled and relaxed. The iconic building added to the experience, and the kids particularly enjoyed the interesting "wonky" walls. It was a great evening out.
I stayed near Kingswinford and was recommended to visit the unique Crooked House Pub. It was a bit difficult to find, as I had to drive down a dark, potholed track that looked like an old rubbish dump. The pub was not very appealing from the outside. I decided to visit on a Sunday evening, but unfortunately they stopped serving food at 5pm, so I left hungry. The pub is a standard local establishment, with the only standout feature being that it is slightly slanted due to subsidence. It seems to rely on its quirky nature rather than good customer service to attract customers. If you're looking for a drink in a unique pub setting, this may be the place for you.
Marstons must be out of their minds to be selling this place as everything about it makes you want to return. From the moment you walk through the door the entertainment begins as members of your party will start falling in different directions trying not to be affected by the doorways and windows leaning different ways. Great fun! The couple running the pub are extremely friendly and helpful to meet our dietary requirements. The menu concentrates on good value, traditional pub meals that suit the style of the pub. Our steaks, both T bone and sirloins were cooked perfectly to our requests and there was a huge bonus for two members of our part who are GF they offered a GF sticky toffee pudding with custard! An absolute delight. Next time we are in the area we will definitely be returning.
Me my wife had a lovely afternoon yesterday , we’ve been here many times over the years but the place never seizes to amaze me, we couldn’t fault the very friendly service an absolutely superb meal, we will definitely be returning.
