J G and Catering - Spartanburg

My Sisters and I visited Spartanburg SC today and saw J&G Restaurant on Henry Street and decided to stop in. Well, the food was delicious, the price was unbelievable, and service was awesome! So sorry I forgot to take pictures. I will definitely visit again. #diamondintheroughFood: 5/5

My Significant Other, Mike, and I discovered J&G Family Restaurant when we went from Asheville, NC to the Costco in Spartanburg. Soul Food to me means you put your heart and soul into your cooking and they do just that here. Mike said they have the best fried chicken he has ever had. Bobby, Aunt Bea, John, Johnny, and all the cooks became family to us! Mike passed away in February and my next trip down was hard, but the hugs and warmth I received that day was so special. I went down yesterday for lunch (didn't need anything from Costco) and it's like going home. Oh, and the food is great!!

Excellent customer service and southern hospitality, on the phone and in person. My food was great and I would definitely eat here again. My plate was fried chicken, fried okra, collard green, mac and cheese, a roll and tea.Food: 4/5
