Will be going back for sure! The home made creamy coleslaw was some of the best I have ever had. Great hometown place to eat!
I would be ashamed to post this buffet on Facebook or anywhere else. This was the most pathetic excuse for a hot food buffet I have ever seen. Runs from 4 to 8 and at 630 what little dab that was left didn't look fit to eat. The FB post had me hungry for fried chicken and there wasn't even any on the pitiful 8 or 10 item line at all. Some pan slots were completely vacant. People ordering off the menu were even getting their mashed potatoes and other sides put on the plates from the buffet versus being made fresh. YUK YUK YUK. This place could not survive if they had any competition at all. I feel so sorry for the residents of Spencer.
We were in with a party of 10. The service was to be desires slow and when they finally got to us couldn't remember what we had and took forever for refills. The food was absolutely disgusting out of 10 people non of us liked it and we were told by the owner NO ONE has ever complained. He was absolutely rude and as someone who has been in customer service for 15+ years he needs to take a memo on how to treat people
Food was good, service on the other hand needs work. Got my order wrong a few times, communication is definitely lacking with the FOH staff and they apparently don’t have a warmer to keep take away food. I wanted some take away food for a family member to go after my meal but it was made early and then just left behind the bench. The staff don’t really seem to care all that much about customer service. But at least the food tastes good so kudos to the chef and to whomever hires their FOH staff. Your staff need training
Just went for lunch at noon for my first visit since the opening. I have heard mixed reviews and that they are inconsistent, but I was in the mood for something new and wanted to give Good Times the benefit of the doubt. They are understaffed (who isn’t? but this was outright the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant in years.I eventually got up and ate from the buffet because my waitress didn’t come back to take my order of which, the first thing I wanted, the taco salad, wasn’t available despite being listed as “available every day.” Her helper, who came from the kitchen, couldn’t answer basic questions like how much the buffet costs and seemed disoriented. I didn’t receive a drink the entire time I ate despite it being included in my tab and specifically asking. The pizza was so dry the chicken seemed like it had been baked for hours. One piece was entirely inedible and had a hair cooked into the crust. The meatloaf was either burnt or saturated from soaking in grease under a hot lamp for who knows how long. The only decent thing was the salad bar which had a limited, but palatable selection. As my lunch break came to a close I still didn’t have a bill, so I went up and paid without an itemized bill. It still came to $13 something but I wouldn’t be able to give you an exact amount because I have no receipt to go off of.Overall a depressing and uncomfortable lunch situation which made me leave hungry and unsatisfied with my experience. Despite the lack of restaurants in the Spencer area, I will not be back. You would be better off going to Cross Roads or Chambers if you want a home style food experience.
