Avaliação da contribuiçãoUpon entering the restaurant, you are greeted by the soft sounds of Greek/Mediterranean music playing in the background. The colorful umbrellas and decorations lining the ceiling add to the lively atmosphere. We visited during lunch hours, where counter service was offered. However, table service is available in the evenings and on weekends. Located conveniently downtown and near the campus, we made a reservation using Google Maps. The owner personally greeted us and explained that the restaurant specializes in authentic Greek cuisine, so don't expect the typical Chicago-style lamb and beef gyro meat. I opted for the mixed platter with bifteka and sausage, while my wife tried the Kraken and my son ordered the bifteka. Every dish was delicious, although familiar to us. We also enjoyed a cup of red pepper soup, a classic baklava, and a pumpkin spice baklava for dessert. Overall, it was definitely a dining experience worth trying.
I absolutely loved this charming and delicious little restaurant. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. If you're not familiar with Greek cuisine, no need to fret. The staff are happy to guide you through the menu. They offer a variety of traditional Greek dishes, including baklava and other sweet treats. And don't forget to try the tzatziki sauce!
We decided to try out Greek Belly after my nephew, who is a local, recommended it. We are from Connecticut and have had Greek food in Europe, so we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was here in Missouri. I ordered the sliced pork gyro wrap with a fresh salad, fries, and Green Ghost IPA, while my wife had the gyro platter. We both enjoyed the flavors of our meals and appreciated the friendly staff at the restaurant. Overall, we give it five stars!
We came here and ordered the Prometheus Feast for our family of 4 and it was barely enough for all of us (but we weren?t super hungry! Not a complaint. It was a great choice! The food was so so good! I was not a fan of the pork souvlaki? it was verytough but everything else was quite delicious. It hasn?t been noted here? and I really DO like this restaurant but the floorsare sticky and dirty? every crevice is covered in a film. It?s off putting. Even the window sills are layered in a nasty film offood dirt. I don?t know how such a nice restaurant is so dirty but it?s worth noting because it?s gross. OTHERWISE, I like thefood here!
Greek Belly is a staple with my household! Every menu item I have had is stellar! They offer a wide variety of Greek specialties from baklava to dolmades. Do yourself a favor, get the kraken pita with a side of feta fries, outstanding!! Also, make sure totry their falafel, some of the best in Springfield!
