Avaliação da contribuiçãoTastes good in the moment, but leaves you feels crappy about 15 minutes later.Super high in calories (mondo burrito) and is big enough to share. I'm not disappointed in this place as you get what you expect, fast food which is cheap. It is what you would expect to get from a fast food restaurant...
I decided to try the new Taco Del Mar after driving by and noticing the new joint. I love Mexican food! After entering the building I couldn't help but notice the prices seemed quite high. I've never been there before, not even any other Taco Del Mar, so I thought I'd give it a try. I have to say the Mondo Burrito looked enticing. It was certainly big on the screen. Based on the price I thought this thing would be huge and satisfy all my hunger. Given they use the word 'mondo', this had to be good right? As I was going through the process though I couldnt' help but think this burrito doesn't look all that big". I paid for the food and it came out to $9.60. This may not seem all that bad, but... that was just the burrito! Nothing else, not even a drink. Ouch!Still I had hope that this mondo burrito was going to be good. Unfortunately I was sadly disappointed. I've had burritos before, many times and this thing was simply lacklustre. The beef wasn't well seasoned and everything was somewhat bland. The worst part was, I was still hungry afterwards! And I'm not even a big guy. After this experience, I won't be returning to Taco Del Mar, at least not at this location. I would try others to see if this was just a bad joint. I like the concept of this place, which is similar to Subway, but with the high prices and the lacklustre taste, I don't know why I'd return.
I am rating this restaurant high by giving it one star. Ordered a soft taco with shredded beef and a hard one with ground beef. The meat was cold in both and lacked flavour. Others ordered the salad and it was small in size for the amount paid.
As a vegan moving into the area it is nice to see that there is a place that understands and uses the word on the menu. All three beans options are cooked without meat and a good amount of veggies to make your burrito, bowl, tacos etc. Will be coming back
Decided to try something new for a quick supper on the way home from work. Had 2 Baja bowls with beef ($8.75 each), and a side order of guacamole. You get to choose your toppings. Found the salsa that was advertised as "spicy" not as spicy as I would like. Had extra jalapeno peppers to offset. Also ordered the small chicken burrito with rice, beans, cheese and pico de gallo. Was authentic. Taco special with chicken and chips and salsa could have been right from Mexico. Service friendly. Place was clean.
