If you like a good ordinary pub, the public bar in The Dunblane fits the bill perfectly. Clean and tidy, telly on the football, friendly locals and good service. I liked it.
So, before exploring the twin, we popped in about 1545, a few pleasant locals, sign on bar ‘ring bell for service’ a local said one tender runs both the lounge and the bar. When she eventually came she had a face like a torn scone, bi hello, can I help you, she raised her head in an upward nod to my wife, we ordered a beer, which was nice and s white wine which was barely cheap lows. We left after that and got a far better welcome in the riverside. Worst part was the barmaid
I was banned from this restaurant by the manager after getting into an argument and raising my voice. However, the fact that the well-known drug dealer who frequents this place was not banned raises some questions about the manager's priorities. Is this fair treatment? I personally don't think so, or am I just out of touch with the times? It seems that raising one's voice is considered worse in the manager's eyes.
After attending a Remembrance Parade at my son's school (Queen Victoria), we stopped by for a quick drink. The pub was quiet, but we were pleasantly surprised to find the local Folk singers club having their regular Sunday jamming session. It was a delight to listen to them for hours. I highly recommend visiting if you are ever in Dunblane on a Sunday night. The staff were also excellent.
