Avaliação da contribuiçãoTiny restaurant in a central location serving excellent sandwiches on home made bread. Menu offers imaginative choices, great sides to accompany and fantastic desserts to finish off. Great choice for take out to enjoy in the park along the river
We stopped for lunch here and the food is good. My rating was brought down by the look and cleanliness of the restaurant. It really needs a good cleaning and facelift. Also, one of the staff had a huge cold sore on her lip that was not very appealing considering she was serving and around food.
One highlight of the Stratford experience is having a picnic lunch by the water. Who wants to make their own sandwiches when you're on vacation. The York Street Kitchen is ideally located just up the hill from the water front. Bring your picnic basket or cooler, swing by and order your sandwiches and you're good to go!
OK. So this is basically a sandwich shop. The interior has a few tables, a bit crowded. There are in warm weather tables outside on the sidewalk. Its decor is absolutely no frills. All six of us (here for a performance) had sandwiches of various kinds. All were very fine indeed. Service is cheery and efficient The ladies who staff this establishment work hard and take care to make sure their customers are happy. Now, if you want "fine dining" or A/C or wireless and pomp and circumstance, you should no doubt go elsewhere. But if you want good hearty food and don't mind being 'real' come here. It's in the heart of Stratford and has been in business for many years. There must be a reason for their success.
Every once in a while I stop into this little gem to get a quick and fantastic lunch. the owners are great to deal with and the food is wonderful and is a good value for the meal!
