Avaliação da contribuiçãoExcellent food and amazing views. We had hachepuri (Georgian cheese bread), branzini and some appetizers. Everything was delicious and filling. The service was mostly good, a bit slow to order but after ordering the food was brought very quickly. i am in miami
It has been some time since we last dined at Gem. Prices have increased since our previous visit, but they are still reasonable for a waterfront location. The restaurant is clean and the staff is polite. However, we suggest that they improve their menu presentation, as a copy paper packet with a staple is not very appealing. Additionally, for parties of 5 or more, it would be nice if the restaurant offered to combine tables instead of customers having to grab an extra chair themselves from another table, especially when the indoor dining area is not full. Despite these minor issues, we enjoyed the food. The restaurant offers a beautiful view of the intracoastal waterway in the back, although there is currently some construction work going on with barriers up, which detracts from the scenery. While this may not be within their control, it is something to consider if you are looking to dine outside for the view.
This place would have earned 5 stars had it not been for the poor service and ambience. We ordered Greek salad, Calamari, whole 3lb Red Snapper, mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese, Shrimp Scampi pasta, all absolutely fresh and delicious! Our night began to tank when our waitress brought our wine bottle. She popped it open and left. Not even a pour. No table water, nor did she ask. We asked for water, she brought the bottle and left again. When we ordered we asked her what’s popular on the menu, she said “I don’t know what you like.” Service was painfully slow. The shrimp pasta and sides arrived, but we had to wait another 20 mins for the snapper. Waitress finally brought out the fish on a big wood platter and left again. No apology, no additional plates for my husband and I to share. The ambience is like walking into a banquet hall. The only saving grace is the outdoor area overlooking the water and the dishes. The waitress was horrible, zero personality and unfriendly. She should seriously consider a different career.
The hinkali and chicken tabaka were delicious, as was everything else we ordered. Don't miss their hachapuri!
I went to the restaurant by myself specifically for the oysters, as their website advertised a happy hour oyster special on Thursdays. After unsuccessfully trying to call the restaurant twice with no answer, I decided to go without a reservation. Finding parking was challenging, as the restaurant is located under an apartment building with no clear sign for designated parking. The server refused to let me sit outside, stating that a reservation was required. However, two white girls arrived without a reservation and were immediately seated outside, despite the table being empty when I arrived. It was a disappointing experience overall.
