Avaliação da contribuiçãoWonderful cafe with a great atmosphere. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is so yummy. I would recommend the vegan big breakfast or the chicken ball sandwich which is apparently their speciality. And if you have room after your meal don't forget to try the coconut cake. Coffees are good and the sticky chai tea is the best hot drink!
Got a mango and raspberry frappe to go last weekend in the city. It wasn't the hottest day ever but when couldn't you use some mango and raspberry magic was mega refreshing and staff were very friendly.
Well decorated small place, yet seats quite a few. The staff is very friendly and the food was delicious.<br/ <br/ We had the, 'Fried spiced cauliflower with hummus and chickpeas ', which was delightfully different dish. Almost wanted to lick the plate clean. <br/ <br/ Next we had the 'Kawa famous vegetable minestrone soup '. Absolutely loved it. It was full of veggies and pasta topped with some cheese. The bread served with the soup was a touch too crispy for my liking.<br/ <br/ Saw one of the staff members put cookies in a jar and could not resist having an oatmeal cookie, and liked it very much.<br/ <br/ Above all others though it was the lemonade that made my day. Without exaggerating, it was simply the most awesome lemonade I 've ever had. Will return surely just for the lemonade if for nothing else.
Food: Good <br/ Drinks: Great <br/ Service: Good <br/ <br/ I ordered the Kawa Club Sandwich while my friend ordered the Kawa Breakfast Salad. I loved my sandwich. The crust on the bread was quite tough and hard to eat but with that aside the triple decker, jaw breaking lunch sandwich was quite tasty. The breakfast salad was also nice. The addition of the apples added a nice sweetness to it all. The homemade lemonade is a must try.
Kawa is an institution, and I have drunk a lot of coffees from here in my time, though I think I had a phase of chai latte too… The tables outside are, to me, what Surry Hills is all about, or should be about, and it’s always surprised me that there’s not more outdoors seating in the neighbourhood, to watch our diverse community walk by with dogs, shopping bags and briefcases.
