Really enjoyable meal in a very nice atmosphere. All of the staff were very friendly and very efficient. Thank you again. See you soon
A little hectic when first in but when we got our table things settled down and the food was lovely and good value. Would go again.
Went on a Friday night with a group of people, most of whom had pre-booked their meal. I and my husband hadn’t. However when we arrived the waitress took our order almost straight away. I was on a table of four. Out of the party two had pre-booked, two hadn’t. Three people of our party were served and I waited, and waited, and waited. At least an hour. When we checked I was told there had been a bit of confusion with the orders, but that “it’s on its way”. Half an hour later, at least, my dinner was served. Two other people had also waited a long time. I wished after the first hour I’d have cancelled. The chicken in the pie was cubed and hard, the sauce was watery, the pastry soggy at the bottom and burned on the top. The chips were appalling. We spoke with the gentleman behind the bar about the wait and the confusion. He blamed it on the group of people we were with. Was totally unsympathetic, bordering on rude. As regards the food. Two people in our group had fish and chips. The fish coating was hard, the chips awful. The serving staff were very efficient, can’t fault that. The food. Mmmmm. Maybe if we go back again it may be a better experience.
Booked a 60th Birthday party in the Marquee at the rear, foods was awesome and plenty of it, marquee was perfect, staff were fantastic and Brian the landlord could not do enough for you, so helpful and friendly, Mike the DJ was also the best and worked with the group to make sure every one was happy and dancing one amazing night only managed by all at The Chequers Inn, massive thank you
