Avaliação da contribuiçãoFood was quite good, especially the dips, entrees. The Saganaki was OK, but Feta was almost non-existent and prawns were a tad bland. Choc Hazelnut Baklava was very good, crisp and tasty with lovely fig icecream. Noise is a huge factor here though it...was Friday night so maybe this is not so every night. As the walls are lined with stone noise built up to a crescendo! Quietened down a bit later on. This was an important Birthday Party I sent a request if they could provide a birthday cake as dessert 2 weeks before, admittedly via open table, but this was not responded to. When I rang, I was told a candle could be provided with Dessert, oh well. Service was a bit of a mix but overall good waitress looked quite peeved when 2 of us did not stop talking immediately when she was ready to do the spiel, so that was odd. Also the waiter spilt a beer and lost about a third onto the table, they cleaned it up ok, but didn't offer to replace it.
First time had Greek meal. It was above my expectation. Order the king prawn and octopus dishes, and bread with eggplant dipping, all dishes are very delicious. A go back again place.
We were quite a large group and had pre-ordered Yiia Yia's Menu 1 comprising a selection of olives and dips with pita bread, cauliflower salad, Greek slaw, halloumi saganaki with poached fig, spanakopita, chicken kapama, slow roasted spiced lamb shoulder and chocolate/hazelnut fig baklava. Plenty...of delicious food to share and enjoy in this beautifully appointed restaurant. Stand out dish was the lamb, so moist and melt in your mouth and the spanakopita was equally as good. I don't live in Sydney but would make the trip just to visit this restaurant again. Service from the friendly waitstaff was professional and extremely attentive. A most enjoyable evening.
My husband I recently had dinner an the Alpha Restaurant in Sydney, as were we keen to try traditional Greek food. Restaurant was very busy, despite this the service was attentive fast. Enjoyed our shared entrees of dips, pita bread grilled Halloumi...Cheese. They were very tasty reasonably priced. Our mains on the other hand were disappointing not good value for money. We had the Eggplant Pie which was more like an Eggplant Spring Roll not a pie The King Prawns Saganaki was tasty but a very small meal with only 4 prawns for $34.00. Dessert The Chocolate Hazelnut Fig Baklava was to die for along with the Coconut Bougatsa. Restaurant atmosphere service was lovely. Overall, the food was tasty, but expensive.
We rescheduled our reservation well ahead of the cancellation period to 25th June. As there was no where to inform you of the error to request feedback on the restaurant I thought it was important to let you know re the app here.
