Rockpool Bar & Grill - Sydney

I was honestly not sure what I expected. I was really excited to try this place, but literally everything that came out was a disappointment. w overrated and w basic. I make better mac and cheese than that, I make better pasta I make better scallops and I am not even a good cook. Was greeted by a young girl who was quite rude to tell me that I was 10 minutes too early for the 6pm dining room, but recommended that I could eat in the bar. was served by a beautiful young lady in the bar area, which for the earlier greeting. the food was good (anchovy and smoked tomato on broth and cheese burger,) but the chips were very oily. the service also good. it was disappointed to be charged a service fee and $9.50 for a glass still water. will not return.

Between the stellar reviews and the personal recommendations of the food I trusted so disappointed and surprised how bad the food and the service was here. we had a reservation about 18 o’clock on a Monday (booked weeks before our trip, as it was. “not to miss” per friend.) we sat at our table for 20 minutes before someone came by to say hi and get our drink order. it took forty minutes to get a drink. to put the stage, the restaurant was probably about 1/4 full and many employees stand around and talk to each other. when the server finally took our order, she came back 10 minutes later, because she had forgotten it and we had to tell her again (amateur lesson.) we ordered the scallops, squid, rind ragout and a side of the carved vegetables. none of them was exceptional and the spice was much too salty, the sweet so oily, but they can take this with a chalk of the salt (see what I did there) because I am not a food expert. but I know a good service and so far, far from it. this is an absolutely stunning space, they suspect that some reviews about the quality of service and eat.

After a blunt walk with children and our dog. very welcoming, eating and service excellent and a fabulous teepot!

A warm welcome, patient staff as my party in and with the menu super weinliste, clear explanations from menu and options all made for a relaxed start. the timing of the dishes was on the square, but above all, of course, every dish was beautiful...cooked, with interesting taste and excellent presentation. that was a pleasant evening.
