Avaliação da contribuiçãoJay chou themed restaurant, cheap prices. the steak with wine sauce medium rarely ordered and it was very tender and juicy.
Love the ambience.. High ceiling, ventilated n cooling.. Music definitely awesome for fans and food was surprisingly good. For the very affordable price.. we ordered the beef risotto and the tiger prawn spaghetti meats were tender, both with a clever twist.. Tasted unique n Delish! :9
The place is really quiet and out of the way for tourists like us. We took a cab there. It was a Saturday and at almost 5pm. Restaurant was empty. The waitresses were dressed in the school uniform of Jay Chou's movie secret. The restaurant is decorated with some of Jay's related things, and has high ceilings. Don't know why there is a Betty Boo outside the restaurant and a Transformer Optimus Prime head hanging inside. Background was playing Jay's songs. Toilet is on the 2nd floor. There is a grand piano at the side which is the piano in the movie Secret 不能说的秘密。On it was a score and a notice that no one should play it, or else they would be transported back to the past. Menu looks like something from Secret, and some food in the menu are named after Jay's song titles. There are some new items in the menu, as part of the restaurant's 10th anniversary on 10 October 2017. We ordered a pizza and crab penne, and paid NT120 for a cup of drink with Jay Chou's face on the foam. Food was better than I expected. Not bad. Then 3 items cost us about NT800 plus and can use credit card. There were only a few items we could buy, like a card at NT20 which we could write a note to Jay and hang it next to the piano. Or a pack of cards with the restaurant's logo. Can't remember the rest.. Overall not bad. Hope Jay has more merchandise to sell. And hope the resturant can survive for fans like us, cos his 2 other restaurants have closed. After an early dinner, we walked to Linjiang night market which was quite nice..
Some good stuff but a lot of Taiwan-style western glop too, and always too sweet (ask for Italian dressing if you don't want sweet yogurty mess on the three leaves of iceberg lettuce). Mentaiko pasta is reliably rich but they don't use much real dairy.
If you are a Jay Chow fan then this would be a place to consider. Quite ambience with Jay's songs right in the university campus. The piano is no longer there. The food wasn't impressive. I would just come for coffee... A little more Jay feel would be great!
