Franc's Diner - Takapuna

I had a wonderful evening filled with delicious food and great company. The food was as tasty as ever, and the service is quick—you never have to wait long for your meal. It's also one of the few restaurants with a kitchen that stays open at 4 PM, perfect for an early dinner.

Charming little place for a quick lunch or drinks. The atmosphere is fantastic. I highly recommend trying the sliders and tacos. It's conveniently located near Takapuna Beach. However, parking can be tricky in this area, so it's best to use the paid parking lots and then take a short walk to the beach.

As of July 17, 2022, the restaurant no longer offers a separate vegan menu. The vegan options are quite limited, featuring a vegan burger made from mushrooms and lentils, as well as a vegan bowl. There might be some vegetarian dishes available that can be made suitable by omitting the aioli. For example, the cauliflower dish is labeled as vegetarian, but you can enjoy it without the aioli. The same goes for their fries. The prices are definitely on the higher side; for instance, the cauliflower dish had only five florets and cost about $17. However, the fries were absolutely delicious!

I'm not sure if the restaurant is under new management or what, but my experience was not as good as it used to be. The food is still decent, but I ordered the flower wings and noticed that they now serve fewer pieces for a much higher price.
