We were looking for a place to have a snack and thought we'd have to settle for a coffeehouse and our gps brought us to "fat quoll woodfire" we were so happy to have found this pizza restaurant, the lovely owner/chef made us special order pizza (1 vegan and 1 random pineapple and olive - don't ask:) )And he showed us around! It's a few minutes drive from eaglehawk neck river and it's the perfect supper to combine with the bioluminescence!!
Visiting the region from the mainland we saw many beautiful places. Stopping here we encountered the epitome of Tasmanian customer service and amazing local fare. The food was great and cooked in a wood fired oven right outside. We hugged the indoor wood heater and watched John and co go about their work. You can tell these guys love to cook and love to bring great food to people.Don't change guys! And thank you!
There are only two places where you can get pizza on the peninsula. This pizza is perfect for when I don't feel like making my own. The prices are reasonable and the service is friendly.
We enjoyed a great pizza with wine, and some sweets, good service, and were kept warm by the fire on a cold night in May. Upstairs, is a gallery of fine gifts and crafts. Although the gallery is closed this Winter, hopefully it will continue from Spring onwards.
