Daily specialties are served in cafeteria style and all other menu items are written on a large white board on the wall. Much to choose. I had Genes Meatloaf and it was really good. I will definitely be back and have to try the homemade cakes!
Beautiful little jewel in Terrell Texas. They offer moderately large country style plates at a decent price. The food is good and the staff was very friendly. Beautifully decorated in old country fashion.
Today my husband and I decided to try out a restaurant in town we had never been to before, I heard that Kountry Kitchen was good so we decided to go there. I am so surprised by how much I liked it and how much my husband liked it (he's a picky eater). For first time visitors here is a helpful tip so you don't look as goofy as we probably did, you can seat yourself and the menus are on either side of the table you sit at. I liked that they give out water before taking your order so you have something to drink immediately, it was a warm morning and I appreciated it. We didn't feel like breakfast and got burgers to play it safe and we didn't regret it. All in all the staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean, the food was great, and the price was unbelievable. Our meal was less than going to a fast food restaurant and the quality was above and beyond. If you want quality food for an unbeatable price you definitely need to come here. We will be going back as our new Saturday ritual.
Chicken fried steak (tender and not preformed -with lots of good gravy), real mashed potatoes, seasoned pinto beans. All were delicious. The cornbread was sweet, which I don't prefer. It was very warm in there, BUT worth it!! Charming old building.
We have eaten there in the past but currently it's no longer open. It has brown paper covering the windows. It's a shame, I sure do miss it. One interesting fact is it was used in filming the movie Steps of Faith.
