The Orchid Restaurant - Thornbury

I was brought here by my friends for the first time and I absolutely loved it! Since moving to the country, I had not yet tried Canadian-style breakfast. The peameal was delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly, quick, and helpful. It felt like being at home. I will definitely be returning to try the breakfast poutine, as recommended by my friend and server. As a vegetarian, I was pleased to see many vegetarian options on the menu. The server mentioned that you can customize your meal to make it vegetarian-friendly by changing the ingredients. I had a veggie burger that was also vegan-friendly. I will definitely be back. Thank you.

Never, bring your family friends to this restaurant. NOT RECOMMEND. SERVER SO RUDE. This rude server brought our food to our table and spoke loudly here, is for the man who cannot hold his mouth. She meant my husband who talked to me in a whisper while the prayer went on television on the commemorative day. I asked my husband what was going on when my back was behind the TV. This very rude server then displayed the PLATE on our table. It was an honest mistake as we forgot the time. This rude server would have been able to tell us in a discreet manner and not so loudly that we all draw attention to our diners. There were two other white people behind me who also talked, but this server didn't do what she did to us. This was clearly a targeted attack on us as it was colored. She could be the owner or a server, but she has no right to treat customers like she did to us.

It was worth waiting to get a great breakfast in a facility that really takes care of the quality of food and service. I'm glad we stopped here. I'm back.

We decided on eating at The Orchid because of their ability to deal with my many dietary restrictions. Our server Holly was amazing and went over and above to talk to the chef and ensure that I was looked after with every little detail. The...food was great. Good portions. We will definitely be returning. My compliments to the chef and to the oh so friendly and helpful service by Holly.

A restaurant for locals and tourists alike with all -day breakfast amongst other meals. Friendly and good service. Simple but tasty food.
