Travelled to PEI for a ball tournament, pizza is head to come by in this neck of the woods! Had pizza and garlic fingers. Pizza was good, sauce was bland. Garlic fingers were good, not too greasy.
There are not many pizza places on this end of PEI, and certainly not many "great" restaurants. Fonzie's is probably the best pizza place on this end of the island. Locals told us about Fonzie's and it is worth the half-hour drive. In the parking lot you will see cars from near and far (we saw cars from Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan, Massachusetts...). Locals come here, as well as the tourists. The restaurant does a robust take-out business. The restaurant is small and easily missed as you cruise along Route 2, but it's worth a stop if you are looking for a good pizza or meal.Located where Union Road intersects with Route 2, south of Tignish and N/NW of Alberton.
Stopped in while going to North Point, PEI. Basic fare but we enjoyed it. Would stop in again on my next trip.
My husband and I stopped to grab a few slices for lunch. Paid a fortune for mediocre pizza. I suppose when there aren't many pizza places around, one can afford to be pricey without being delicious.
