Piedra Ventana - Trevelez

A restaurant with very friendly staff, popular with the locals. Ate some excellent local jamon and sausages here. Also inexpensive.

We had driven past this restaurant every day for five days. I have to say that the odours were enticing. We decided to give it a try. Interesting start as I was ordering our drinks and saying that that we wanted to eat as well, I was asked Do you speak English? My reply was Yes but I am trying to speak Spanish! Never saw him again. A sweet waitress took our order without looking horrified by my appalling accent (The masks help). We had the House Salad. Phenomenal. Followed by Lomo for me and Lamb Chops for my wife. A huge Pork Lomo and six lamb chops! Not the place for the faint hearted. No room for postres and cafe would spoil our siesta. Looking forward to our next visit as we have booked the Rabbit Rice

We very rarely go tot he same place twice when on holiday but we made an exception for Piedra Ventana. Both visits were on a Friday night and while the bar area was nice and lively the restaurant are was quieter with nice views over the valley. Service was friendly, English is spoken but we ordered in Spanish which I think helped the whole experience. The house salad is absolutely amazing, Mrs B had rabbit for her mains which she enjoyed I had what was in effect a mixed grill, which was tasty and well cooked. There was a fine selection of desserts. A very nice meal. Our second meal was just as good and I would recommend this establishment particularly for tourists looking for the more traditional local dishes. Note like a lot of Spanish restaurants away from the coast and main cities food is not served until 2030 (It's worth the wait)

Es un restaurante pasado, la muy buena comida y postres un pasado, el trato es excepcional, paco és un chico encantador, amable y servicial, y no debemos olvidar el chef jose, un gran profesional, sin duda és el mejor restaurante de trevélez. Felicitaciones por tu esfuerzo y trabajo, eres genial. Espero volver pronto.

Uno de los mejores restaurantes de la zona con una impresionante comida y precios inmejorables, recomendable 100x100. Siempre es un verdadero placer volver.
