El Rodeo - Umatilla

Not impressed! The food lacked flavor, and the steak was nothing like what was shown in the pictures. I won't be going back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I couldn't obtain a current health department certificate from the restaurant. The tacos were definitely not worth the $2 each. They consisted of two cold, pre-made corn tortillas about 4 inches in diameter that were bland. Just some onions, cilantro, tomatoes, and a bit of meat, all served on a paper plate and wrapped in foil—not very classy! It was 7:30 PM on a Saturday night, and the place was empty. It's located right next to a busy hotel, so you can draw your own conclusions. The restaurant looked tidy enough, but since we didn't eat there, I wouldn't recommend it under any circumstances.

The waitress was friendly, but I wasn't happy when they brought out a really hot plate for my young grandson. He ended up getting burned because it could have been served on a cooler plate. The food was good, but I think restaurants should be more careful about serving hot plates to children under nine. They really should switch the plates to something safer first.

First clue: NO OTHER PATRONS ON A FRIDAY NIGHT! Second clue: The dining room AC was out. Third clue: Mexican restaurant with no guacamole but not known until the food is brought out. Very disappointed but when the hotel clerk can’t even suggest it, should have known better. Really wanted some guacamole and chips but apparently the avocados were too hard. It was a Friday night, County fair and rodeo going on and you would expect to be told first thing that they were out if it came with your order. The most aggravating part was they didn’t offer a substitute or a discount. The food flavor itself was so so, no seasoning on the chicken but it wasn’t burned or under cooked. Won’t be going back.

We got some work to do.. But I still love this place its like my second home again. So come on out and shoot some pool or just have a good drink after a long day at work or for you travelers a long day on the road. Almost forgot the food is some of the best around!!
