Umina Charcoal Chicken - UMINA BEACH

At about on I ordered Plain Hamburgers, steak sandwich and a small chips. I was told by an Extremely Rude Man that "we don't sell steak sandwiches" I replied enquiringly "why" and received a terse response that "this is a chicken...shop". So I ordered a Grommet Burger instead which I was assured by the "Rude Man" was actually steak but minced. When the order was ready after about minutes I received a Plain Burger, Grommet Burger and a small chips. The order was short by Burger. I asked where the second Burger was and the "Rude Man" said I only ordered Burger. This was incorrect and he was lying. A second fellow putting the burgers together said "you would not have been charged for it though". To tell the truth I thought nothing of it when I was charged for what I ordered being burgers, grommet burger and a small ships. Turns out the grommet burger was nothing more than a small meat pattie with some onion on a small roll. seemed reasonable to me. Apparently not and the slightly older man then offered to cook another burger. I said how long would that take and he said about as long as the original order". I said what I had would be cold and could therefore not wait. The "Extremely Rude Man then proceeded to defend his actions and in a loud voice, with other customers (a family) in the shop denying he was rude. Now I can understand an order getting mixed up by an inexperienced hamburger cook/shop assistant however lying about what happened is a terrible way to treat a customer who was basically only making conversation. For the other man to then support the shop assistant when he clearly heard what happened is also inexcusable. The food I did receive was ordinary at best. They should stick to Charcoal chicken which they seem to do reasonably well. I won't be going back to this business in case I get another dose of bad manners from the cooks/shop assistants. Summary Ordinary take away food served with rudeness (there is no excuse for rudeness by anyone behind any shop counter, even if it is the end of the day and they may be tired). The "Extremely Rude Man" is in the wrong line of work the fellow that backed him up, who looked like the business owner, needs to either have this fellow retrained or "throw him overboard' (ie sack him). This is undoubtedly not the first time this has happened at this shop. (check comment below-even though the previous comment is years old, the business owner did not take the tip from that customer in

Food is always delicious and nice, one of my fav places to go to in Umina. If its Chicken or a burger, they never disappoint

Well staffed and very good chicken but lacks atmosphere and friendliness. Staff can be under some pressure but the experience could be better

I ordered from this restaurant when I last stayed near the area. Great selection of food. The chicken was roasted just right super juicy. The chips my kids loved and the serving was quite generous. I loved the roasted pumpkin. They had great salads...as well particularly liked the potato salad. Service with a smile. Highly recommended

Opened my hamburger it was huge and looked great. First bite something is wrong it's sour. After investigating I found the pineapple juice in the pineapple ring was rancid and had gone through the rest of the burger.. Ok chips and drink chips are soggy...soaked in fat due to not changing oil.. Seriously how do they even make money.
