The Grove - Union Pier

I ordered the chicken mole served with rice and beans, which was absolutely delicious! I even took part of the half chicken home for lunch the next day. My partner had the portobello mushroom ravioli, which consisted of generously sized homemade ravioli in a flavorful mushroom cream sauce—also delightful. I tried a rosé from Portugal and enjoyed it so much that I ordered a bottle to take home after corking it. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!

The waitress was rude and disrespectful. We waited an hour for soup and another hour and a half for our dinner, which never arrived. When we decided to leave, she was incredibly nasty, cursing at us and suggesting we go to McDonald's instead. The restaurant also had bugs, and there were gnats flying into my water. The chef claimed to be the owner, but that wasn’t the case. I would never recommend this unpleasant place due to the rude and disrespectful staff, as well as the bug infestation and rats. Food rating: 1.

I cannot recommend this restaurant. It was evident that the establishment was severely understaffed, and the few employees present exhibited a lack of professionalism. We waited for our food for two hours, and when we brought it up to our server, she suggested that we should have gone to a fast food place instead. There seems to be no management overseeing the operation or any way to provide feedback on our experience. This was the worst dining experience I have ever had. The restaurant itself was dirty and poorly maintained. Another patron mentioned he was turned away because they claimed to be too busy and short-staffed. With just three employees—one cook and two servers—they were unable to manage the 3-5 tables they had. I highly recommend avoiding this location. There are many better options in the area, and we certainly will not be returning.

STAY AWAY! Service is horrendous. Place was pretty much empty however we waited for over an hour and a half for our food party of 5). When we asked on the status of our order the waitress said it was almost ready. We got tired of waiting and told her to to please cancel our order because we are from out of town, had a long drive home and have been waiting for too lomg. The waitress immediately gave us a nasty attitude and told us we should 've gone to Mc Donald 's! She was extremly rude and unprofessional and called our group stupid. When we asked to speak to the manager a person from the kitchen came out claiming to be the manager and told us rudely to just get out of the restaurant because he was very busy. This was the worst experience ever. Not to mention as we were walking out one of our friends saw a big fat rat not a mouse) running inside the dining area! STAY AWAY! It 's too bad this place went down with their service because this was our go-to spot when we would visit Michigan City......not anymore. Rude, dirty and unprofessional customer service.

The service was incredibly slow. After waiting an hour and a half, we decided to leave. As we were exiting, our server, Myra, who is Latina, was quite rude. She informed us that our food would be ready shortly, but we explained that we needed to go, which led her to become verbally aggressive. When we requested to speak with the manager, he came out and told us he was busy and that we could just leave. We were almost relieved to do so, especially when we saw a mouse scurry into the kitchen as we walked out. I would advise avoiding this place if you prioritize cleanliness.
