Very good food, we eat very well. very nice frame and staff is very welcoming and very pleasant. I recommend!

Very nice decor, and a good meal but the service was missing in action. The servers mostly served drinks to people at the bar on their arrival and then seemed to forget that customers were there. Took a while to order….. when the food came to the table, that was the last we saw of the servers. Not only our table, but the whole section… who were mostly there for drinks and if they wanted anything more, they had to go to the bar to order. Couldn’t catch anyone’s eye or flag down a server, because they simply didn’t circulate or enter our section. We would have ordered desert and coffee, but no one ever came to clear our plates ! After a very long wait, I went and paid the bill at the bar and we left. The server at the bar acted as if she was stoned. Too bad because we had a lovely filet du porc and great frites. Good news: the waffle stand across the square was a great place to find desert. Maybe that was meant to be.

I was in Valenciennes last week with my daughter and we had dinner at Le Président. First of all the restaurant and its terrace looked great but that wasn't all: we were welcomed by super friendly and professional waiters!! That made our evening so pleasant that we didn't want to leave! We haven't met the chef but he was the star of the night! Our dishes were just amazing! I had lamb with potatoes and my daughter had the pasta with salmon. Both absolutely delicious! The night was nice and we stayed on that lovely cosy terrace so we decided to drink a gin tonic... A special creation (fresh strawberries, cucumber and lemon) just for us from our favorite waiters: Justine and Renan. What a team!! They were super friendly and professional! Personal note: Waiters are very important... they make the difference between a great restaurant and an average one! We definitely recommend Le Président! You will not regret it! As for us, we will definitely come back!!! Barbara
