The Landing Current River - Van Buren

This restaurant is a fantastic place to visit in the autumn! I had a great experience dining at the restaurant: the fillet was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The staff ensured that we were always well taken care of. I also stayed overnight in the main building, where I found the rooms to be very clean with modern amenities, comfortable beds, and pillows. The view of the river was excellent, and the fall colors were stunning. I highly recommend making this a yearly summer and fall getaway.

The food quality was average and portion sizes were lacking. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was enjoyable. The desserts were reasonably priced at $5, not $10 or $11. The salmon and baked potato were both good.

Cost WAY To Much, just to give someone a ride up river. Cheaper to bring another car and just park upstream and drive the second car to pick up the first when your done. My experience was as fun as the a/c getting turned off the moment we got in the van so the ride up was hot. Then after the hot ride they didn't bring the life jackets. They did send more life jackets but we did have to wait another 30 min in the sun. So heck no this place shouldn't be charging that much. You get one

The Landing was very organized and check in was easy for canoes. For some reason they have stopped shuttling from the Landing to the Ozark Riverfront Campground, but it’s probably for the better because our bus driver was HORRIBLE. He drove bus 10 on Saturday 8/12. It was the scariest ride I have ever been on. Driving extremely fast, crossing over center lines, slamming on the brakes and screaching tires. We’re lucky we didn’t meet anyone or a deer didn’t jump out in front of us. The whole bus felt very vulnerable and just wanted off. This man should not be allowed to drive. I would consider floating somewhere else next time to avoid that bus ride.

I didn't actually go inside the main lodge itself, but if it's anything like the event that was happening along the bank, then it must have been fantastic. The people running the event were great, both in the grounds and helping with hayrides and traffic. The vendors were amazing - personable, knowledgeable, and passionate about their crafts. The food from the surrounding area was delicious, and the musicians were fantastic. Overall, it was an awesome community event.
