Lux Lounge - Vancouver

I was in Vancouver again and dropped into Lux on a Sat night. It's a great place if you're into Latin dance, but the bartenders are clearly amateurs, lacking any training, unaware of their stock, but can open bottles so you won't die of thirst.

Our company rented out Lux for a work event. It was a nice space. They had very dry appetizers and a taco station was ok. Great selection of beers .

I dropped into the Lux Lounge late Sat evening, and the DJ had the place hopping with a range of Latin top 40. Some really good dancers there, and everybody seemed to be having a great time, despite the crowded dance floor. My only comment to the DJ would be more salsa and bachata, less merengue and samba, but that's just my preference.

I didn't eat here - so I can't comment on the food - but I did attend a party at the space. It was a beautiful space - felt high-end - with a nice dance floor and good staff (quick and friendly bartenders). I would recommend it for private functions/parties.

Food was delicious and decor was very pretty. The restaurant that night (Saturday) was on the empty and quiet side but we still had a good time nonetheless. By the time we left at 8:30 it was starting to get busier. Next time we'll stay for their Salsa Night.
