Avaliação da contribuiçãoMexicali, Handi, Simon's Kitchen, Sushi Inn, and Riya's are no longer in existence. The entire east side of the block is currently under development. Additionally, Subway, Jak's Beer, and Subway have also disappeared. Is this progress? I don't believe so.
My absolute FAVOURITE spot. The tacos are to DIE for, and so are the Mexi fries. This my friends and I go to spot, I go at least once a week. Super cheap and nice and simple food. Love it. Sad to hear its closing end of May :
Enchilada en Mole Poblano (Price: $11.95) - Rating: 3/5 The dish includes two chicken enchiladas in mole sauce served with rice and beans. While the mole sauce had a chocolate, chile, and peanut flavor, it was unfortunately lacking in taste. The chicken in the enchiladas was tender and plentiful, though the beans and rice were average and could have used more seasoning. Beef Redondo Roll-up Special (Price: $8.50) - Rating: 3.5/5 This dish features a grilled tortilla filled with ground beef, cheese, vegetables, and sour cream, served with Mexi Fries and a Slushy Limonada. The tortilla was nicely grilled with a crispy texture, but the beef was slightly dry and lacking in seasoning. The Mexi Fries, similar to tater tots, were crispy and delicious. The Slushy Limonada had a refreshing tanginess. Overall, the restaurant received a rating of 3.5/5, with decent food and great prices. The Beef Redondo Special is recommended for those looking for a satisfying meal at an affordable price.
I love this tacky little place in sleepy Dunbar. You walk in and it's a mish-mash of everything stereotypically Mexican, including a cactus-shaped sidewalk sign and really cheesy music and murals. Sometimes when the owners feel good they'll put on a Michael Jackson DVD on the TV. Anyway, the food is consistent because it's simple tex-mex and it's cheap to boot, though, to be fair, I've never had anything other than the Redondo, quesadillas and tacos. The quesadillas are just huge chunks of gooey cheese with whatever meat you get, and every meal comes with a good portion of tasty mexi fries (they're tator tots, I'm sure) and some salsa (probably Tostito's) and sour cream.
Looking for a delicious meal in Vancouver? Look no further! My friends who live in the area have been raving about this place for years. Although I can't vouch for its authenticity, the homemade corn tortillas were a standout for me. Pair that with their signature tangy limonada, and you have the perfect combination. The portions are generous, and the service is always with a smile. It's worth noting that the owner is Vietnamese, and the menu may have some entertaining spelling and grammatical errors. But don't let that deter you – it only adds to the charm of this hidden gem. I will definitely be making this a regular stop on my visits to Vancouver.
