Avaliação da contribuiçãoToday, I decided to give it another shot and ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. When I picked up my order, the staff was, once again, very friendly. But when my coworker and I returned to the office to eat, we discovered that both of our grilled cheese sandwiches were burnt. You might wonder why I didn't call the restaurant to complain. To be honest, I figured they would offer to let me come back for new sandwiches, but I simply didn’t have the time for that today. I wanted to leave this review in hopes that the management can address this issue. It would be helpful to speak with the person who made and packed the sandwiches. Serving burnt food just isn’t acceptable!
I regret to say that Too Jay's, which used to be fantastic for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, has disappointed me on my most recent breakfast visit. The potatoes were only warm at best, and while the waffle was decent, I’ve definitely had better. The bagels, however, were still fantastic as always. The omelet portion was acceptable, but it too was only warm, just like the potatoes. We should have mentioned our concerns to the server, but she seemed quite busy.
This used to be a great place to eat. Yesterday I ordered the french onion soup. The cheese was not melted over the top. It was inside in a small ball??? Not much cheese and I had three small pieces of onion in a lukewarm broth. I guess it was hot at one time as cheese was a little ball? Terrible!! This is their $6.99 soup. I went to swipe a fry from my friend and it drooped. I asked for a to go container for soup and complained of soup temperature and the uncooked fries, which they offered to fix but I was over it and took the containers. We ended up paying over $30 plus tip for cold soup, side salad med well patty melt (burnt on outside and raw inside) and fries that needed to be fried. This place used to have good food. What happened??
I will be reaching out to a manager about this issue today — last night (June 10th, 2022) at 7 PM, I called this location to place a pick-up order. I gave plenty of time and showed up at 7:40 to pick up my order. There were three young women at the counter and none of them acknowledged me for several minutes. When someone finally decided to ask me how I could be helped, I let them know I was picking up an order for Stephanie. No one at the counter had any idea what I was talking about, and then finally after some internal deliberation, the woman who I was on the phone with said “well I can put your order in now” and that she didn’t when I called. There was no apology or ownership of the mistake and absolutely no sense of urgency to get the order to me. I let them know that I didn’t have time to wait, that I placed my order 40 minutes ago and that it would have been ready at this point. All 3 workers just stared at me. This was a supremely disappointing experience and I believe that the new staff needs better training and communication/customer service skill development because this was completely unacceptable and embarrassing behavior. I have never had this experience in over 15 years of coming here.
