Last August, on a hot summer day, I decided to take my sons to McDonald’s to enjoy a little ice cream. That day Lucas, my younger son, seemed to have lost his usual joy. When we arrived at the McCafé, Lisa, a sparkling employee, noticed her sad mine. She approached with a touching benevolence, and after a few words exchanged, learned her love for autumn and squirrels. She then promised Lucas that, on the occasion of her birthday, on October 16, the McCafé would be decorated in the colours of the fall and squirrels, her favourites. I thought it was just a gesture to comfort my son, but in October, what a surprise! The McCafé had transformed into an autumnal cocoon. Coloured garlands, squirrels, hedgehogs, biches and wood chips were harmoniously arranged. The showcase, adorned with juice, decorative mushrooms and a variety of pastries, reflected an impressive attention to detail, recalling an idyllic autumnal painting, far from the usual atmosphere of fast food. Lucas was fascinated, the stars in the eyes. In front of so much beauty, we have long contemplated every detail before succumbing to temptation. Lisa’s hot chocolate was an exquisite sweetness and her latte coffee was perfect for an autumn day. The desserts were a delight. The cheesecake, macaroons and especially this chocolate donut were simply sublime. I would like to express my deep gratitude to Lisa for this wonderful initiative that lost Lucas in October. And of course, a big thank you to all McDonald’s team for their constant excellence. Since then, I have never been disappointed with the team’s service or kindness. On that day, you offered my family much more than a meal: a precious souvenir. Thank you so much.
